The Scar Tissue Photography Project is a extension of the Book Diary of a Diva by, my friend, Yvette 'Diva' Williams. Her beautifully written personal and poetic account of the trials and joys of life bring this project full circle in the coordinating essay entitled "Scar Tissue"

Heal this internal scarring

Please rid the throbbing, painful reminders

Kill everlasting memories that I was once again something to do... instead of something to love." 

 

The project had its first test shoot in early 2014 which yielded some outstanding images with the help of the amazing talent of Ben Peter a local special effects artist and some incredible ladies who allowed their own pain and internal scars to be recreated physically. It was an emotional shoot.
